After a very busy week of revising and exam taking, I am glad the week is coming to an end. I think the only thing which has got me through this week has been tennis and running. For me tennis and running help me deal with all the stresses of life and to forget about everything for a bit, and most of the time afterwards everything just seems so much more calm and less stressful. Also for the first few days of the week, my legs were still recovering from my 10km race, last Sunday. Only by Wednesday did they feel like they were back to normal again. As the weather was hot and muggy again, I thought I would do a tough session on the fields, because I seriously need to practice running in this weather, because whether I am playing tennis or running, hot muggy weather always drains me pretty quickly. I was pretty happy though that no one else was in the park so I could run in my new shorts and sports bra. I bought these shorts last week for £10 off eBay, the link at the bottom, they are for £18, as I couldn't find them any cheaper online... so always check eBay, as you can get some great bargains on there! In this photo I was thinking 'is there really only 10 more seconds left of recovery' I am slowly getting used to how funny I look in compression socks and I have definitely got a funny few looks from running past people. Although they are definitely helping with my calves during my sessions and recovery! Also I didn't really get to say much about my new trainers in my last post, because I was too busy talking about my race. I went to a specialist running shop and they had me on the treadmill, wearing several different pairs of trainers to see which pair were best for me. I learnt that I had been running in the wrong pair of trainers for a long time and that sadly Nike trainers were just no good for me as I needed more support, so in the end the Brooks Vapour 3's came out on top. However there was one downside, they either had pink or grey. Of course how the shoe looks for me is very important. The grey just looked a bit boring, but I had the problem that I don't like pink, so I couldn't decide what to do! In the end I decided on the pink, after a bit of persuasion from my mum and they are slowly growing on me. I am pleased to say that they are so comfy and I am already excited for the Vapour 4's to be coming out! Okay it is fair to say that my session took it out of me, just a bit! After my session I jumped straight into a cold bath and then I had a sports massage... what could be better! My calves normally struggle with recovery after a session, but now, as I am writing this a few days on, my calves still feel super fresh... YAY! I am definitely going to be having a few more cold baths after training sessions! I hope you have all had a good week! I only have two more exams left and a 2 day art exam, but I am so nearly done and I can't wait for summer as I have so much planned! I'm now off for a long steady run on the roads, before a relaxing Sunday. Please also could you just take a few seconds to answer the question below, as recently my blog posts have turned more fitness related and I was wondering if you all want to see more of my going out fashion again and my latest hair styles etc. Love G x Shop the look...
