I have been lucky enough to test out some of Stance socks, which I am a huge fan of!! Here are some snaps of them in action and my thoughts about their different pairs and ranges. Lots of there socks are longer than ankle socks and although previously I would not be happy with this... they are currently really coming into fashion with runners! Both these longer pair are called the 'crew' style and they are both £17.84. Yes they may seem expensive for a pair of socks, however they will not fault you on quality. I guess you could say they are more of a long term investment because they are going to keep your feet in good condition for a long time. This is something I think other brands often fail to do, which typically wear out pretty quickly and then start to give you blisters. The pink socks are now not on sale on Stance however the same style but in different colours is here. This style is great if you feel you aren't quite brave enough to wear the longer socks, but you also keep the great quality and comfort, but are also usually for a slightly lower price at around £15. Stance are great at coming up with festive socks and these are my go to winter socks to walk around the house in... I am actually wearing the red pair currently. These pairs are thicker than normal socks and I typically wear them as sort of slipper sock. They are also great for wearing with wellies because they are longer and don't role down mid walk, meaning they are hassle free and you won't have any mid walk sock problems. Isn't this white pair great, I love the writing on them and are so festive. I will certainly be wearing these on Christmas morning, I might even have to wear them for any festive runs I do around the next week. I hope you have enjoyed this review and if you do venture out and get a pair of Stance socks, let me know as would love to hear what pair you get!! I have also attached below all the links to the socks featured in my blog post and some socks I currently have my eye on too. A pair which I love the idea of too is the blue pair in ankle length, I haven't seen them on the website but I've them on Instagram before and I'm a massive fan! Love G x Featured Socks... For the last few months I have been testing out the ON running cap and putting it through its paces. I will admit before I got this cap, I was not a huge cap person and rarely ran with one on, however getting into the end of August and the weather was really starting to heat up, it was an essential item for me when I went on my Sunday runs. This is because it is so light, it basically doesn't feel like it is there and it is great at keeping my face cool, which really helps me stay energised throughout the run. The great thing about caps is that they really aren't just for when its sunny but when it is raining too. Now we are into the first day of October, I am prepared for the weather to start making a downwards turn. There is no doubts though that I have been able to test the cap out in the rain too before we have made it into winter. What I liked was that the cap didn't get soaked through and then become comfy, it acted as a great shield to my face and I didn't really notice it was there. After starting as a non cap runner and now I love them, I can only put it down to this cap. I don't think many caps would beat ON one they have produced. I think the design of it has been so well thought through and they have come up with a really faultless design. At £32 is is a little pricey but for the quality you are buying I think it is well worth it and it comes in three different colours too!
If you want to go and find there cap on the website here is the link. Love G x These last few weeks, I have been testing out some of New Balance's latest kit! I have been testing out all sorts of their kit from tank tops to backpacks and I certainly haven't been disappointed. I have also made a video to go with this post on youtube, which is at the bottom of my post, where I put the kit through the test of my busy life. I am a big fan of this top, its really lightweight and is also on sale at the moment. The link is at the bottom of my blog. I really like the shape of it as it fits really well and it also comes in another colour scheme too... maybe I'll have to get that one too. These leggings are super soft and comfy, I haven't been able to put them through their paces yet in some serious running as it is a bit warm. I can say that they are really comfy just to where around the house and even for yoga, that you can see from my youtube video. I am a big fan of the strips on the back of the right leg, because it is just something a bit different and stands them apart from others. This grey backpack is now following me everywhere, and New Balance have such a great array of different ones for every occasion. Personally I use backpacks a lot, I always take one with me to training, whether that is going to the gym or if I need to take my spikes, racing flats and normal trainers to one session and I can get them all in one bag, along with the neat separate pocket for my keys and phone. You can never go wrong with a good old black tank top, and I always am rushing mine through the wash as I wear mine constantly. Whats better is that it is really soft but breathable too, so thats certainly a win win for me. I hope you enjoy this review and you can go and check out New Balance's website too and enjoy my video I have put together.
Love G x When I first came across chia charge, I was instantly pretty obsessed with their products. I just think they are such good healthy bars, for both before and after training! The brands name gives away one of their key ingredients... chia seeds! I think it helps, that I am a huge obsessive over chia seeds, whether it is on my porridge, granola or even on some toast, I LOVE them! Chia charge comes in two sizes a little mini one which is perfect for on the go, or a larger one which is a great snack to accompany your lunch or before a big training session in the evening. I think it is really great that they now have two sizes as the big ones are rather large for a quick snack, and the little ones are just perfect for a snack. With their three flavours you certainly won't be short for choice and what is great, is that one of their bars has no added sugar. Personally the 'chia seed flapjack with banana' is my all time favourite. Whenever I go for a bike ride, I'll always sneak a chia charge bar in my back pocket as they are perfect for a mid ride snack! Along with their bars, chia charge also sell just chia seeds on there own. This is a perfect size pack to just keep in your cupboard and it has good packaging so that you can easily grab a spoonful of seeds to chuck on your porridge in the morning quickly. Overall I am very impressed with 'Chia Charge' and would really recommend their bars and chia seeds. They are great for on the go and made of good ingredients too, so you don't need to worry that there is too much sugar in them or have bad stuff in.
Packaging 4/5 - looks neat and colourful Taste 4/5 - depends what your favourites are, the banana one I would give 5/5 Price: £5 for a 6 pack of minis £1.85 for a single big one - although many multi pack deals which are good value Website Love G x For the last month I have been very pleased to be testing out Brooks' new shoe 'The Revel' and as a huge brooks fan I was very excited to see the next trainer they were going to launch. They are a neutral shoes, which are nicely cushioned for a smooth, lightweight ride. I have put together a youtube video of them in action, which is also shown at the bottom of this blog post. These trainers you can where in the gym as well as for running on most surfaces. I have tested them out on track, road and trail and they have been fab. I have been so impressed with these trainers as they feel supportive, yet not bulky or heavy. I also have been loving them in black, which I wouldn't usually go for but I like how smart they look. I would be even tempted to wear them as a casual trainer too! Here is my video of the trainers in action, I hope you enjoy it! The trainers have now been launched to my excitement, use this link to head over to Brooks and view them online. They could be yours for just £90, which I think is really good value for this great trainer! Love G x Look: 5/5
Comfort: 5/5 All round shoe: 5/5 I guess I can't really fault these trainers! I have previously tested out some of more miles kit and loved it, so I was thrilled to get some more to review. More mile is a well known brand, and the low prices might make you think that it isn't good quality, but you should really think again! This grey top is only £10 and is really soft and comfy, I would suggest getting the bigger size when you get it though, because I got a small, like normal but it came up a bit snug. They do this style of top in 4 colours, so you have plenty of choice if you like it, which I really do! These 3/4 length leggings are just £15, and well worth that. The bright colours drew me straight to them and they are really comfy too. I find that they are perfect for gyming in, and for when the whether is a bit awkward and not quite warm enough to wear shorts. Here is my last review on More Mile if you fancy taking a look at the other kit I have tested (some photos below). More Mile has really impressed me with their kit, and I would definitely recommend to you all. It is great value, and the quality is still really good! Make sure you keep up to date with my instagram as there is sure to be lots of posts to come of me in my more mile kit!!
Love G x Zone3 is a great brand, which focuses on kit for triathlon, so quite appropriately right up my street. With the tri season starting very soon, I couldn't have been happier to try out some of their new kit. It certainly didn't disappoint! I'll start with the tri suit, the cool side panel patterns, drew my attention straight away and at just £79, this tri suit you really get a lot for your money. It feels great quality, and is great to swim, bike and run in, so it is a win win! Showing off the side patterns! Personally I am a huge lover of blue, so this costume I unsurprisingly love. The classic style of swimsuit, I don't usually go for anymore, as I prefer the thin strap but you can also get the thin strap one too for £33. Having the classic shape this time around, I have actually liked though as it makes for a really comfy fit, and is great for open water swimming, as you want to be wearing a comfy costume underneath. As the open water season is approaching, I have been rather keen and have had a chance to go swimming already... yes it was a little cold and I didn't last long but it was just great to be back in the lake swimming! My new wetsuit, is definitely up there with my favourite piece of tri kit I own. What makes it great for me is that they do a tall version, which is ideal for me because otherwise I can never find one which fits and this one is the perfect fit! The aspire wetsuit range are really good as they are not the top end wetsuit which will dig deep into your pockets, but I find them amazing quality still, and swimming in them is super smooth. The hat, perhaps is on the small side for my head, but with a bit of stretching it will be great. It is a thick and good quality hat and also comes in lots of different colours, so there is plenty of choice. Along with the goggles, these are really good for open water because of the large and polarised lens it makes them really clear (even if the water isn't). Zone3 is perhaps a little expensive at times, but it definitely isn't when you compare it to the quality of the products you are getting. I know all these bits will last me a long time, which makes your purchase well worth while! I can't wait to take all my kit with me to my first triathlon of the season in the coming months and also to test the wetsuit out weekly, when going open water swimming. I pretty much only have good things to say about Zone3 and I think you would too.
Love G x Website: Zone3 Bounce are a well known brand for their protein and nutritious energy balls (and not to mention the rather pricey £2 per ball too), but is it worth it... well thats what I am going to be talking about. To start with there are so many flavours, but my personal favourites are the almond, and the coconut and macadmia. I was surprised, but I wasn't a huge fan of the peanut butter one, which is odd because peanut butter is my favourite thing!! Back onto the actually balls, I love the almond and would happily pay £2 for it however, most of the others I do find it quite sweet and some people like that, but I can only manage a few bits of it, before I pass the rest onto someone else. Bounce balls are my go to snack after an S&C session and even just after a run, bike or swim session. All my team at the national cross country relays had one before our race, and we managed to come 8th in the country, so I guess they must have done something well.
G x More Mile is a well known brand for being reasonably prised, although I had always overlooked it, presuming the quality wasn't that great... but how wrong could I have been! After testing out a few bits of their kit, which involved: leggings, shorts, a hoodie top, short sleeve top and socks, I think I have a pretty good impression of their kit now. Which I will share with you and if you continue reading, I have put in a discount code too! These black shorts, look very similar to the Nike pro 3" but are about half the price, coming in at only £12.90 (£9.03 with code), which I think is an absolute bargain. Plus... *drum roll* I think I would say they are more comfy than my Nike pro's, which is a big statement I know, but they are just so soft! The top as you can probably guess I love too! Even though it is 100% polyester is is so soft and is perfect for working out in, and it doesn't hold the sweat (so you don't smell ;) The top is £10 (or £7 with code). I would just like to say that all these photos were taken within 20 minutes of each other, even though in some it looks like glorious sunshine and the other Winter Wonderland, but it is in fact just what angle in the field I am facing. Anyway this second outfit fits the more wintery scene because it is definitely a winter outfit. Starting with the long sleeve hoodie top, I'm not really sure what to call it, but it is so soft and comfy and that is all that matters to me. It even has thumb holes, which is a necessity for me in the winter, otherwise I find my sleeves just end up rolling up, which is a nightmare because then my wrists get cold and that is not ideal! The hood is perfect to pull up when it gets a bit colder and when your ears are starting to freeze. The toggle is perfect for tightening it appropriately in order to keep it up and this comes in at £19.90 (or £13.93 with code). These leggings are pretty snazzy and they are one of their newest products. They are a good material that they are pretty easy to fit someone. For example I can often find it a pain to get leggings that are long enough, but this fit me well. These leggings are £15 (or £10.50 with my code). Also these socks also tick a lot of boxes, especially having them in 5 different colours, means that I can match a pair to almost all my outfits! They rise higher up the ankle than I personally like, but thats just me being picky. The material of them is the nice sporty material which isn't too thick and heavy (if you know what I mean). For 5 pairs these are only £10 (or £7 with my code)! I hope you have found this review helpful and that you will definitely go and give More Mile's website a check out, as they really have some great kit for such great value. Here is a 30% discount code too for their kit 'MMATHLETE' I really don't have anything bad to say about More Mile as a brand, so I would really recommend their kit! Value for Money 5/5 Appearance 5/5 G x This raw cacao chocolate is just the best and when I have some in stock, it will always make an appearance on top of my porridge (as seen on many of my instagram (@race.with.grace) stories and posts. They have so many different flavours and the ones featured below are just some of them. Coconut and coco milk are my favourite flavours, probably because they are both quite subtle flavours, but I must say the goji berry flavour was a pleasant surprise to me, because it was really tasty (I don't know why but I didn't expect it)! I tend to always put a cube of the choccy on my porridge, because when it is hot it melts it, so that 30 seconds later when I go to eat it, it is all just gooey! Ombar have a couple of chocolates with flavours in the centre and this coconut and vanilla one is just DIVINE! I hope you like my review and sorry I haven't done any for a while, but I've been pretty busy (eating porridge...) G x |
