I hope you have all had a good week, I have had a very busy one, full of sport and I am definitely ready for the weekend! In the summer I went to Iceland with school and I will say that it was the most amazing experience of my life, I would do anything to go back. From climbing up volcanoes to swimming in the blue lagoon, every aspect of it was brilliant. I wanted to share some of my photos with you, to show you how amazing the place is. This photo above of the waterfall was possibly the most tiring photo, because we had to climb all the way from the bottom of it. We must have climbed a good 500 steps, I was knackered by the time I made it to the top, but the views and the photos I took away were so worth it. We went super jeeping through pretty inaccessible land to any other vehicle, we drove through rivers which were more than a metre deep and up banks which seemed way to steep to even attempt. It was bumpy but it was just so awesome being in such large vehicle. I think this photo makes you appreciate just how big they are. Snorkelling between the Eurasian and North American plate was amazing! The water was so clear and could see so far below you, which was a bit scary but I think this photo sums up just how wicked it was. Oh... it was 3 degrees celsius in the water, because it was glacier melt, no kidding, it was FREEZING! We were in dry suits but your face wasn't covered at all and my lips were blue when I got out from being in the water for about 30 mins. Glacier walking was also so cool, we had to put on funny clip on shoes, so that we had grip on the glacier. When we were on the glacier, we got to see just how large it was, because when you're just looking at it from next to it, it seems so much smaller. Iceland is famous for The Blue Lagoon and rightly so! It was so amazing going from the cold fresh Icelandic air into the warm misty water. The blue colour and warmth is all natural because of Iceland's geothermal energy, which I think makes the experience even better. The Lagoon is meant to be really good for your skin too, because of all the natural minerals, there is even mud which you put on your face and it helps cleanse your skin, that was great fun but I think I must have looked scary. I hope you enjoy all my photos from my experience in Iceland. Does it make you want to go, because looking back on the photos sure makes me want to go back even more.

Last Sunday I had the chance to make these pancakes for breakfast (okay maybe it was more of a brunch because I didn't wake up until 11). I know pancake day was a couple of weeks ago, but I could't resist making some more. Also I started lent and have given up chocolate; I wouldn't say I am anything like a chocoholic but I just wanted to give up something, because I never have. I based my recipe on the 'Hemsley Hemsley' recipe but I changed a few bits because I didn't have all the ingredients and I like to improvise. I only recently order 'Hemsley Hemsley' and I have already fallen in love with all their recipes, and what makes it even better is that the ingredients are healthier substitutes; what more could you want. I made these for my mum and I and they went down very well, we finished them all off in a matter of 10 mins. They were just so tasty! Heres the recipe I used to make them. Serves 2: 100g blueberries 2 tbsp coconut butter/ oil 2-4 tbsp warm water 2 eggs at room temp 1.5 tbsp maple syrup 2 tbsp plain flour 0.25 tsp bicarbonate of soda Beat the water, eggs and maple syrup until light and fluffy. Sift in the flour and bicarbonate of soda. Add the melted coconut butter and mix, to make a batter. Leave to sit for 5 minutes. Then HAPPY PANCAKE MAKING! So I know they don't look perfect but they tasted amazing and they tasted even better because I know they had really good ingredients in them, I will definitely be making these very soon. Have a good weekend everyone!
G x When its cold, wet and windy sometimes it gets a bit depressing and I feel like coordinating with the sky. Any shade of black, blue or grey I love and putting this outfit together I thought all the colours compliment each other. My denim jacket is my go to jacket in this awkward cold but (sometimes) sunny weather; perfect because its not too thick, and not too thin, that I freeze to death, (I feel the cold a lot). This denim jacket is very popular because Topshop do it in loads of different shades of denim, all with the fluff lining. I could happily buy every shade and have them all lined up in my wardrobe, (I think I would need to extend my wardrobe first). My grey polo neck jumper, I couldn't live without, it just goes with everything and is warm and comfy! I would happily wear polo necks all day everyday; chunky or thin ones. This grey polo neck goes with practically everything and it will definetly appear again on here. My black long champ which I got for christmas is my go to handbag because its just so practical and fashionable which often don't go together. I added a pom pom on because aren't pom poms just the best thing, I have one tied onto almost everything, including my house keys. The black pom pom goes really well with this bag but because the bag is black you could but any colour pom pom on to create a statement accessory. My Daniel Wellington watch is my favourite watch, I've ever owned.. okay I can't say I've owned many, purely because I'm not much of a watch person. But that has all changed since I received this watch from my sister for christmas and I haven't taken it off since. My rings are from Accessories' Z collection, which I love and would happily buy all of their collection! Stacking rings are a must have, for me at the moment and then a Delicate ring on the other hand, I feel finishes off the look. My rings are from their last seasons collection, there are some below which I have been looking at for ages and I think I will probably end up getting. Here are my Nike's which come with me to most places; they are perfect for just everyday like popping into town or going for a coffee with friends. I looked at getting a black pair of Nike's for so long (I'm talking nearly 2 years) and when I finally got them, they have never seemed to leave my feet. I am not sure I'm brave enough to carry off the brighter colours they do, like orange but I love the look of them! G x Shop the look...
1. These Leggings caught my attention, obviously because of their bright, eye catching design, perfect for brightening up those cold evening, when I am outside playing sport. Every since these leggings were launch I have loved them, but they are £80, but I am hoping they will go into the sale soon! 2. Ever since I first saw these shorts in the Nike store on Oxford street a few months ago they have been sitting in my online basket. I love the orange and also the style because whether you are just going to the gym or going for a summer run, they are perfect! These shorts have been £30 for a long time and I have struggled to get hold of my size but now they have been reduced to £20.99 and they have my size in stock. 3. You can never go wrong with a Nike sports bra, but finding the right style and colour is the hard bit, just because they have so many to choose from. I like this style because it is super comfy and gives you support; for me I don't often go for pink (its not really my colour) but this darker shade makes it more subtle which I really like. 4. While browsing on Nike as I tend to do at least once a week (okay maybe its everyday...) and I came across this amazing tank! It has always been in my basket and never bought purely because it was £33 but now its been reduced to £22.99 it has become even more appealing and I think it is very likely that it will be ending up in my draw very soon. 5. The Pegasus Zoom 32 I have fallen in love with ever since I purchased my first pair recently, they are perfect for running outside or in the gym and look super snazzy at the same time. This picture of the blue pair which they have only recently launch and I love them; if I could I would have all their colours and get to pick which pair went with my outfit. The black pair also I think just look super smart and for a black pair of trainers they don't look boring which I think is pretty impressive of Nike to have done. I hope you like my wishlist and maybe shown you some products you also would really like. Happy Shopping!
G x My pinafore is a really versitile dress which can be used all year round which makes it well worth the spend. In the summer I wear it with a little top underneath or even a crop top. In the winter a knit or even a shirt or long sleeve top changes it in to winter wear. I bought it last season from Topshop but you can now find them in most shops, in different colours and styles. Topshop normally bring out new styles and colours every season and at the moment they have such a huge selection. I am trying very hard not to buy them all! I have paired my dress with my all time favourite polo neck, which I am completely obsessed with and would say this jumper was my best buy of 2015. I would definitely say that a grey polo neck is an essential for anyones wardrobe because you can use in in so many different ways and you can be sure that this jumper will be featuring again soon on the blog. I paired my dress and jumper with my little black booties! They are perfect for just wearing if I am going out to town or if I'm going to a more formal occasion. Before I bought this pair of black boots, I had never owned a pair and now I couldn't live without them. Lots of Love G x Shop the look...
My new years resolution was to try yoga, because everyone in the fitness world has been raving about it and every time I see someones cool yoga photo on instagram (like the one below from @NikeWomen) I get very jealous and want to try it. I heard that sweaty betty do in store classes, but the idea of not knowing anyone and not being familiar with the place, scared me. Then I discovered that my school do a class after school on a Tuesday, this made me very excited. When Tuesday 4:30 came I was a bit nervous but mainly excited! To be honest I didn't really know what to expect, as I had never done yoga. At the beginning it was all about relaxing and forgetting about all the hustle of the day I had had, which at first I was a bit awkward about, because you just sat on a mat with your eyes closed. Then I realised how much of a relief it is just to stop thinking about everything and that everyone else around me was doing the same thing, which made me feel more comfortable. We started going through all the basics and seemed to progress quickly, but before I knew it, it was the end of the session. My favourite pose so far is definitely the downward dog! Okay so I might not be a pro yogi yet, but I will definitely be returning every week and can't wait to progress into harder poses. Each week I look forward to my yoga session so much and afterwards I feel so relaxed. On the next day I feel so loose, which is lovely because with the amount of sport I do, I often feel constantly stiff. Hope you have all had a lovely week! Have you done yoga and if not I highly recommend it? G x Shop the Look...
Park runs are one of my favourite things... what better than waking up at 8:00 to hurl myself round a 5km muddy course. Unfortunetly because I have school on Saturday it does limit me to how many I can do and also when I don't have school, I normally want to make the most of my Saturday morning lie in. But the days when I am feeling bright and active, I do manage to get myself out of bed and get to Dunorlan Park by 8:55. During the winter the mud becomes very tough to run in especially when you are going as far forward as backwards just because it is so slippy. I love park runs because no matter how quickly or slowly you run it, you are always welcome and the volunteers are always there at every corner to cheer you on, which is so nice when you are covered in mud from head to toe. Park runs are free and all you have to do is just sign up on there website and bring your barcode! Every evening before a park run, I am always trying to decide what to wear because I'm known for being bad at dressing to the weather. I am either way too hot or so cold I can't feel my fingers. My latest park run (photos are below), I thought I would go with my new sale Nike Leggings and plain black top from Nike (heres on similar), I was very chilly it is fair to say, I will definitely stick to a long sleeve top for the rest of the winter season. Heres me before and after my run. The first photo, I do apologise because I look like like I've just woken up... thats because I have. The 9am start doesn't go with me well. The photo of the back of me afterwards on the right is me soaked up to my knee with water and mud, it was a bad mistake going the day after it had torrentially rained all day!
I hope I have inspired you all to get out there a Park Run! G x |
