On Tuesday I had a good school session, although we have definitely now reached the muddy season and legs covered in mud will become a popular thing. This was my last school session before the end of term and I am looking forward to next term which is full of cross country races. The last day at school was pretty relaxed and our maths lesson consisted of making christmas trees with our calculators, which I must admit was pretty fun! The last day was definitely in need for alot of us and we celebrated by going iceskating up in London, which was great fun and I even managed not to fall over at all. I was pleased to say that I hadn't got ill yet this winter, but when I woke up on Thursday morning, I knew I was coming down with something. I am now writing this 4 days on and I can't say I am feeling any better, and I am going from boiling hot to freezing cold, along with a nice chesty cough which has taken most of my voice away. The frustrating thing is, I havn't run since Tuesday and all I want to do is get out there and run. This morning I have had to miss my long cycle, which is annoying as the weather is nice for it, because recently I havn't been out much because of either the rain, ice or just how cold it is. Anyway, hopefully I'm going to be getting better soon, and I really hope to be back to training on Tuesday, although I am not going to push it if I'm not ready. The exciting thing is, that it is the count down to christmas, with exactly a week to go, I am in the festive spirit and starting to get excited!

Recently I have been really struggling with getting time to spend on my blog because the truth is 6th form is pretty dam hard, and the IB (My exams I do at the end of upper sixth, where you study 7 subjects... 7? Yes 7 not 3 or 4 like A levels!) is pretty intense. I find myself struggling to squeeze in all my sports around my heavily overflowing homework diary! The perks of boarding though are fab because I am spending one less hour of my life travelling and that time is either spent getting some extra sleep or squeezing in that extra gym session or homework. The truth is, being an athlete, a blogger and a student all at once is pretty hard! Perhaps that is why I was ill last weekend and most of this week, but hopefully my body will soon get used to the new routine of boarding life and fitting my sport in too. However hard it is, I love it. The feeling I get during and after sport is just great and would never change it for a thing. At my school you can go home every weekend, which works well because if I have a triathlon I can come out of school for that and if I just need to get out of school and get some sleep (which ended up being my weekend last week, when I was trying to get better). The perks of coming home is definitely getting my bike back and being able to either go on a nice long bike ride or having a turbo session. As much as it is great having the big gym at school, where there are bikes which I use, there is always something nice about being on your own bike. I also have Saturday school so we often go to the club races and represent the school. Saturday school I don't really mind but when a small school fixture clashes with a more major club fixture, school often takes priority. Here is a quick snap of us last week at the Blackheath & Bromley relays, luckily I am feeling a lot better than I was in this photo and so I started sport again on Thursday and it was so good to be back running, swimming and cycling! I think I was going mad having 4 days doing nothing, I found myself with so much time on my hands. At the moment I am ready Mo Farah's autobiography but annoyingly I have been given a novel to read, which is due in in 2 weeks so at the moment all my reading is on this book , it is called station eleven. It is a pretty confusing book which I am just in a hurry to finish now so I can get back to reading Mo. I have had an okay week of training this week, not the best though because at the beginning of the week I was still recovering from being ill but I am definitely feeling better now, so next week should have a good solid week of training before another triathlon next Sunday.
Love G x In January I was lucky enough to get a fit bit with my saved up babysitting money... it was well worth it! I had heard lots about them and seen many promotional videos, but still didn't know what to think about it. Then when one of my friends got one and was raving about it, I thought it must be worth it. So yes I went not too long after this and bought one from Argos... because at the time they had the best deal but it varies alot! I got the Charge HR and it is fab, I love it! Last year I had a jawbone which did similar things to this fitbit but I often found that it wasn't very accurate but I am pleased to say that when I ran a park run, my fitbit agreed and said I had run 5km... okay well it said 4.95km, which is close enough!
I find it great fun in yoga to see how low my heart rate can get when we are relaxing at the end, it is great because I can check my heart rate at anytime, right there on my wrist. Also the app is very interesting and can use your heart rate to see whether you were in fat burn, cardio or peak, when you were doing your exercise and it can see how far you travelled, even if you are playing tennis or netball. I often have duals against my friends to see who can get the most steps in the week and it definitely has brought out the competitive side in me and the other day I did 18,000 steps in one day, which I was pretty pleased about. This was just a quick post, as there is a long one to come this weekend, about how my trainings gone this week and how I felt after my 10km race last week. Love G x I have wanted to do a blog post on hair styles for a long time because I love to have my hair in different styles and I also love finding new styles. I'm going to show you 4 of my favourites which are perfect for any occasion. 1. The pony; The pony I think is a really smart, fresh and simple look, perfect if you want your hair up out of the way and looking smart; this is my favourite style for school. 2. The top knot; The top knot; this style helped me name this blog post and rightfully so because I am obsessed with this look at the moment, perfect for when you are out and about. 3. French Plaits; French plates are great for the sporty look, and of course great for doing sport in... not just looking good ;), so there is no surprise that I end up having my hair in french plaits lots of the time. The only problem is that I can't actually do them on myself, I can only do them on other people. For me french plates are great because they sort out all my little short bits of hair, so they don't go in my eyes. 4. The Twisted Bun; The twisted bun makes me feel like a ballerina with my hair all liked back in a neat bun, I love this look because similar to the pony it looks smart and stylish! I am, for sure a fan of having my hair up or at least half of it, just because I can't stand it in my face and because I am constantly doing something, it is just easier up. Although I love a good pony tail, I often want to make my hair look a bit more interesting. Hopefully some of these styles you will like and might try them out. I hope you have enjoyed my post and I have inspired you to try a few new looks.
G x Okay so firstly I am going to apologise for the lack of posting recently, it is because I have been up to my neck in work because I have my IGCSEs in May and June, so I think it is best to let you all know that I will be going on a blogging break and I will be back in a couple of months when my exams are over. I will probably post once a month and I will continue to post on Instagram just not as often. When I am back which will be in late June, I will have lots to post about, because I have a lot of free time after exams. I hope that you will return to my blog soon, but for now here is a post on my favourite place. Recently I visited the Mae Deli, which is Deliciously Ella and her soon to be husbands (they are getting married this week) deli in Marylebone which works perfectly because it is a walk away from Charing cross and you can walk along regent street and oxford street (aka shop until you drop). My friend and I take every opportunity to go to the deli in our school holidays and we are completely obsessed with her sweet potatoes. The recipes for the deli are kept secret but whatever she does to her sweet potatos is amazing and I hope she shares it with us one day. You can choose 4 different options. I went for two green salads, of course sweet potato and this time i tried her courgette and chickpea curry... this was so tasty and I am going to try cooking some of her other curries in her book soon! Her mango flapjacks I tried when I first went and found it so tasty so when I returned I was so happy to see it for sale again! I would recommend to anyone to go and visit her deli and hopefully I will be back as soon as I can. If I lived next door to it I would be in there every day!
G x I thought I would do a blogger behind the blog post because, you don't really know me that well except I love sport, fashion and of course going on holiday... who doesn't! I'm going to list 15 things about me because I am 15 years old and hopefully you will enjoy getting to know me more! 1) I have 2 sisters who are 23 and 25 2) I am in year 11 and I am currently studying for my iGCSE's which start in May. 3) I had braces for a year, which I got off in May 2015 4) I live at home with my parents and my dog Ralph 5) My favourite shops are ASOS, TOPSHOP and NIKE! (I'm obsessed with them!) 6) My dream job is to be an engineer (I like maths and physics... I know I'm crazy) 7) I had a fashion blog before this when I was 13 8) Dubai is my families number 1 favourite holiday destination 9) I love to bake cakes 10) Okay so this one is really a point about me, but below is a photo of my family including my sisters boyfriend and brother-in-law. 11) I play tennis six times a week and netball twice a week in the winter and I love them both so much. 12) I am 5'10" 13) I love watching rugby on the tv or in real life (which is even better) 14) I did gymnastics from the age of 3 to 13 and I do miss it 15) I love kale! G x I hope you have all had a good week, I have had a very busy one, full of sport and I am definitely ready for the weekend! In the summer I went to Iceland with school and I will say that it was the most amazing experience of my life, I would do anything to go back. From climbing up volcanoes to swimming in the blue lagoon, every aspect of it was brilliant. I wanted to share some of my photos with you, to show you how amazing the place is. This photo above of the waterfall was possibly the most tiring photo, because we had to climb all the way from the bottom of it. We must have climbed a good 500 steps, I was knackered by the time I made it to the top, but the views and the photos I took away were so worth it. We went super jeeping through pretty inaccessible land to any other vehicle, we drove through rivers which were more than a metre deep and up banks which seemed way to steep to even attempt. It was bumpy but it was just so awesome being in such large vehicle. I think this photo makes you appreciate just how big they are. Snorkelling between the Eurasian and North American plate was amazing! The water was so clear and could see so far below you, which was a bit scary but I think this photo sums up just how wicked it was. Oh... it was 3 degrees celsius in the water, because it was glacier melt, no kidding, it was FREEZING! We were in dry suits but your face wasn't covered at all and my lips were blue when I got out from being in the water for about 30 mins. Glacier walking was also so cool, we had to put on funny clip on shoes, so that we had grip on the glacier. When we were on the glacier, we got to see just how large it was, because when you're just looking at it from next to it, it seems so much smaller. Iceland is famous for The Blue Lagoon and rightly so! It was so amazing going from the cold fresh Icelandic air into the warm misty water. The blue colour and warmth is all natural because of Iceland's geothermal energy, which I think makes the experience even better. The Lagoon is meant to be really good for your skin too, because of all the natural minerals, there is even mud which you put on your face and it helps cleanse your skin, that was great fun but I think I must have looked scary. I hope you enjoy all my photos from my experience in Iceland. Does it make you want to go, because looking back on the photos sure makes me want to go back even more.
G x Last Sunday I had the chance to make these pancakes for breakfast (okay maybe it was more of a brunch because I didn't wake up until 11). I know pancake day was a couple of weeks ago, but I could't resist making some more. Also I started lent and have given up chocolate; I wouldn't say I am anything like a chocoholic but I just wanted to give up something, because I never have. I based my recipe on the 'Hemsley Hemsley' recipe but I changed a few bits because I didn't have all the ingredients and I like to improvise. I only recently order 'Hemsley Hemsley' and I have already fallen in love with all their recipes, and what makes it even better is that the ingredients are healthier substitutes; what more could you want. I made these for my mum and I and they went down very well, we finished them all off in a matter of 10 mins. They were just so tasty! Heres the recipe I used to make them. Serves 2: 100g blueberries 2 tbsp coconut butter/ oil 2-4 tbsp warm water 2 eggs at room temp 1.5 tbsp maple syrup 2 tbsp plain flour 0.25 tsp bicarbonate of soda Beat the water, eggs and maple syrup until light and fluffy. Sift in the flour and bicarbonate of soda. Add the melted coconut butter and mix, to make a batter. Leave to sit for 5 minutes. Then HAPPY PANCAKE MAKING! So I know they don't look perfect but they tasted amazing and they tasted even better because I know they had really good ingredients in them, I will definitely be making these very soon. Have a good weekend everyone!
G x January is always the dullest part of the year in my point of view, so when I found out I was invited to a 21st, I was more than just a little bit excited. I started planning my outfit about 6 months before the party! The dress code was black tie with a hint of sparkle... so my attention for the next 6 months was drawn on anything sparkly. I searched around lots of shops but Asos definitely had the best selection of dresses to choose from. Enjoying my mango and passion fruit cocktail (aka a pawn star). Okay... so I know it was only a hint of sparkle but I couldn't resist. The back of this playsuit from Asos I just fell in love with, even though I did catch on people with lace dresses, which did make greeting people get very awkward! My jacket for the evening was the warmest, fluffiest jacket from Forever 21, faux fur of course, in the sale for just £16, in the boxing day sales. I love a bargin! The table decorations were amazing, and would happily have taken them home with me to brighten up my room. The party was just amazing and I loved every minute of it!
